Welcome new blogger!

I would like to welcome our newest Blogger, Scott Wendorf. Scott is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served as a Lieutenant and an Intelligence officer.

Welcome to the Blog, Scott! I hope you will tell us a little more about yourself, and begin sharing your thoughts about the Military and Unitarian Universalism.

Thanks, David. Let me hasten to clarify that I my service was limited to the Naval Reserve - I was a direct-commission officer in the Naval Reserve Intelligence Program. I don't have any active-duty experience other than my annual two weeks, etc. I haven't had any connections to the military or anyone currently serving since I got my Honorable Discharge in 2002. My father is a disabled veteran of World War II, having been severely wounded while serving as an infantry officer in the 10th Mountain Division in Italy.
I am a member of the First Unitarian Church of Dallas, along with my wife and three children. I am currently an intellectual property attorney with a large corporation here in Texas.
Despite the fact that my own military experience is somewhat limited, I would welcome any opportunity to get involved in UU Military Fellowship activities. I believe strongly in religious freedom in our military. I also believe that Unitarian Universalism has benefited and continues to benefit from having members who are serving or have served in the military.
