New UU emblem approved by the VA

Hello everyone,

I want to thank and congratulate Chaplain Rev. Cynthia Kane for all her work in getting the UUA Chalice inside two rings approved for VA gravemarkers. This is not the first time there has been a UU symbol, but an update to the most commonly used symbol in our congregations.

If you would like to see it, please visit http://www.cem.va.gov/cem/hm/hmemb.asp . The UUA symbol is number 8 on the list.

Congrats Cynthia!

Yours in Faith,

David Pyle

2LT, USAR Chaplaincy Candidate

What was the symbol being used before?

I am also curious as to if/do any of our Chaplins use the falming chalice as an identifying emblem?

Jamie,

At GA 2005 I asked Cynthia that question, and she said they all had a cross. She was referring to Navy chaplains, so I'm not sure about Army and Air Force.
