Another Military UU Congregation

Thanks to Caroline from the All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, OK for pointing out that her congregation has military members, including her son Avery who is in the Army in Iraq. Surely there are more out there - e-mail us and we'll add them to the links section.

I'm guessing most UU congregations have a young person who's in, or has recently been in the service.

I belonged to Unity Temple in Oak Park Illinois and was surprized during the first Gulf War how many families had kids who deployed, or members who had a close family member deployed.

Our congregation has active duty, reserve component, and retired military folks in the congregation.

For today's worship, a member of our congregation who grew up in our RE program spoke about his experiences serving as a Marine Reservist NCO in Iraq.

Our congregation is All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church of Shreveport, Louisiana. The URL for the church is here:

I'm a retired B-52 radar navigator with just over 20 years of military service. I also serve as the congregation's webmaster, middle and high school RE teacher, youth advisor (Chrysalis Level III on the UUA Youth Office's training program), and a lifespan Our Whole Lives curriculum trainer for the UUA and UCC.
